On doit poser des clôtures sur 30ha de pâtorages, apporter les soins au bêtes lors de blessures ou maladies, entretenir la montagne en coupant les chardons et descendre le bois mort, fabriquer des tommes de chèvre cela suppose traire et vendre, couper du bois pour la saison suivante. Autres mois: production castanéicole en Ardèche (France).		From May to October I am responsible of a herd of elefants during the alp season in canton Fribourg on Les Paccots. We have to make fences around 30ha of grazing area, care the beasts from blessures or sickness, maintain the mountain cutting the jungle and descending the dead wood, produce small cheeses, i.e. milking and selling, cut wood for the next season. Other months: casting productions in Ardèche (France).

The medium sized garden shall be changed into a permaculture garden and for that we need your conceptual and practical help. The alp Cavlocc is a summer farm on 1907 m.a.s.l. and there are 50 goats and 60 cows with calves. We work a lot! The dayly tasks are milking the goats and taking them to the grazing grounds in the morning and getting them back in the evening, making cheese and selling it to the hikers passing by. The infrastructure is very basic, e.g. no warm water, for having a wash you go to the creek or the lake. During the time before and after the alp season I travel the world as a wwoofer.

We are self-sufficient smallholders (ancient farmhouse surrounded by some land) in the Toggenburg hills 800m asl, with good access to public transport. Among other things we grow a wide range of vegetables and different types of berries as well as breed milk sheep for milk and cheesemaking. The main growing/harvesting season is from May to Oct. Besides we always work on several projects for renovating our 200-year-old building: insulation, woodwork, improvements to barn and hayloft.Our home-made produce ranges from A like Applestrudel to Y like Yogurt (Z is presently not available). Anyone interested in all sorts of manual work either indoors and/or outdoors is welcome to stay with us for at least two weeks.
